As a Kid He could not even run an errand

Following a couple of disappointing performances from Nigeria’s most established player in the current squad at the world cup in Brazil, Mikel, has come under massive scrutiny from football loving Nigerians including a surprising critic in form of flesh and blood.
Mikel’s own mother was speaking to FNN Sport when she was spotted boarding a plane from Brazil back to Nigeria and she was asked why she was not waiting to see monday’s crunch tie with France and she responded saying ” biko nu, for what enh? You no see as France dey pieces other people? Nna I am a mother and the thought of my boy gawking when his mates and even juniors (Musa) are playing football”.

Continuing, she said, “it is very painful when you spend money to come to Brazil to watch your own pikin





turn up but in my mind I was not too surprised because even as a kid, Mikel could not even run errands for me, his speed in buying me maggi for soup was not even average that time so why are Nigerians expecting more? I still love
my baby like that”.
“I wan go cook soup for Naija for when he dey come back but him papa go stay here (Brazil) for the family”.
FNN tried to reach Mikel for comments but was barred from entry as the Nigerian Team were in a private training session.
